Hello, I’m Alina!

I work as a psychologist for children with special educational needs at Mozaika School in Brovary. I am 28 years old. I studied at the Faculty of Psychology, Social Work, and Special Education at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University and continuously improve my qualifications through courses in speech therapy, neuropsychology, and reflex integration.

What strengths are important in your work?

In my work, an important role is played by attention to the needs of the student, patience, the ability to wait for results — even when a lot of effort has already been invested to achieve the goal with the child, as well as stress resistance.

What do you do as a psychologist at Mozaika?

I conduct testing of children at the beginning of the school year, run group classes in the “Development Correction” program, and hold individual sessions with students depending on their needs. Together with a team of specialists (teacher, speech therapist, rehabilitation therapist, etc.), I create an individual development plan for the child, where we set goals for the semester, track results, and adjust tasks if necessary.
Since one of Mozaika’s social missions is eco-friendly parenting, when necessary, I also work with parents: I provide recommendations and develop a joint action plan.
The main goals of a psychologist in our school are the harmonization of psychomotor, sensory, and communication functions of the child, as well as his or her adaptation in society.

What do you like most about your work?

Of course, what I like most is the result. When, thanks to my efforts, the efforts of the team, parents, and the child himself, he or she masters new knowledge and skills and is able to apply them in new academic and life situations.

What are the main difficulties for a young specialist at work?

From my own experience, I can say that the most difficult thing for young specialists is to start working with a large number of children in school, each of whom has their own developmental characteristics, personality, and behavior. Working in group sessions can also be challenging — but this is what builds resilience and provides valuable experience.

Would you recommend young specialists to work at Mozaika?

Yes, because here you can gain tremendous experience. We have a wonderful, friendly team and amazing children, each of whom we sincerely love!
